It was a few months ago when we found out we’d been nominated for a Talk Of Manchester award, and after seeing who we were up against we figured it wasn’t meant to be. Then, on a frosty Manchester night in December, WE ONLY WENT AND WON!
Drinks were on us last night after we scooped Best Video Production Company award at the Talk Of Manchester Awards 2016. Not only were we spoilt with an inflatable snow globe, free champagne and mini bread rolls, we now have a shiny, amber ornament with our name across the front to go on the shelf.
In the categories of Best Video Production Company and Best Animation Specialists, we were competing with Manchester’s finest: The Gate Films, Anattic, Bearded Fellows, Boardwalk Studio, Doodledo Motion, Dreamscope TV, Glued Films, Standby Productions and The Video Mill. Aside from panic-drinking an entire gin and tonic in order to be able to speak on camera (we’re usually on the other side), we felt so honoured to be recognised for all our hard work this year. And we wouldn’t have got half as far if it wasn’t for the snowballing levels of talent that put Manchester on the map and keep us ahead of the game.
The black tie event was held at Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel and was hosted by Talk Of Manchester founder Paul Kilroe. A one-minute standing ovation was had to celebrate the life of pioneering Living Ventures co-founder Tim Bacon, whose heartbreaking loss was felt earlier this year. The city’s prolific dining culture really wouldn’t be the same without him, huge respect for a man who did incredible things.
Shout out to our new friends on Table 21, Insure Risk Ltd, who also won their category of Best Insurance Broker – thanks for sharing your beer with us ❤ And thanks to everyone who voted for WhiteNoise!
