A lot’s happened in Manchester in 2017 – and we’re here to celebrate it with Manchester Young Talent Awards!
Our city has developed and the young professionals of the Manchester scene have grown with it. They’ve been working hard all year in anticipation for this day to show off what they’re really made of.
From a range of sectors, including finance, legal, property, recruitment, marketing and media, the red carpet was out and we were prepped for the biggest awards event of the year. No, not the oscars – the Manchester Young Talent Awards were back for the seventh year running and this year the young, savvy stars of Manchester really outdid themselves.
On the 23rd November, we once again sponsored the MYTAs. A night we’d been looking forward to all year. This year we sponsored the ‘Rising Star’ award – if you’re 18-26 and working in or around Manchester this one was for you. JCI Manchester announced the winners of the 2017 programme at a ceremony at The Principal Manchester, where our city really showed why it is the best place to live and work in.
Hosted by Key 103’s Mike Toolan and with red carpet coverage led by local celeb Jsky, we had chance to interview some of those who had been shortlisted for an award.
The award categories this year were:
Rising Star Award
Entrepreneur of the Year
Finance Professional of the Year
Legal Professional of the Year
Talent & Recruiter of the Year
Marketing/PR Professional of the Year
New Business of the Year
Digital, Media or Creative Professional of the Year
Property Professional of the Year
Team of the Year
Hospitality Professional of the Year
Charity Project/Program of the Year
Our own Lee Holdsworth kicked things off with the first award of the ceremony, and the champagne was flowing on the Jepson Holt & High Flying Women’s table as Bethan Jepson celebrated winning the ‘Rising Star’ award.
JCI Manchester is a local, voluntary personal development organisation that offers young professionals and entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 40 support, training and knowledge to enhance themselves or their business.
JCI Manchester President 2017, Simon Anderson said:
“Each year we are blown away by the level of the applications and by the support of Manchester’s business community. Both elements show that Manchester embraces its own talent and has a great desire to celebrate the achievements of its up-and-coming stars. It also demonstrates that JCI Manchester is at the forefront of leading the charge on showcasing not just to Manchester but nationally that Manchester has talent – big talent!”
Thank you to the volunteers who put together this amazing night, watch our video to see how it panned out:
